Against the Emanationist image of a world ordered around a transcendent hierarchy, this essay lays out three premises for an immanent technology: the plane of immanence, scale-free cognition, and latent space.

The Emanationist conceives the world as an ordered hierarchy organized around a transcendent being, in which some creatures are said to have more Being than others. That image has licensed historical violence and a psychology of anxious purity. Immanence and Emanation argues instead for a field of generative relationality — power from below — and operationalizes it in three premises: the plane of immanence, scale-free cognition, and latent space. On the eve of the singularity, the stakes of which image we live by are high.
